- Paneer - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, pureed
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Yogurt - 2 tablespoons
- Cream - 2 tablespoons
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the finely sliced onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chili, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the pureed tomato and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Lower the heat and add yogurt, stirring well to combine. Let it cook for a few minutes until well incorporated.
- Add the paneer cubes to the gravy and gently mix to coat them. Cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
- Stir in the cream and garam masala, simmering for another 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
