- Gram flour (besan) - 100 grams
- Yogurt - 50 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Eno fruit salt - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Tomato - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Green chutney - 2 tablespoons
- Sweet tamarind chutney - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, yogurt, water, turmeric powder, and salt to form a smooth batter.
- Add chopped green chili, grated ginger, and chopped coriander leaves to the batter and mix well.
- Grease a steaming tray or dish and pour the batter into it. Add the Eno fruit salt just before steaming and mix gently.
- Steam the batter for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Once cooked, let the dhokla cool for a few minutes and then cut it into square pieces.
- Take one piece of dhokla, spread a layer of green chutney and sweet tamarind chutney on top.
- Layer with cucumber, tomato, and onion slices over the chutneys.
- Place another piece of dhokla on top to form a sandwich.
- Repeat the process for the second sandwich.
- Heat butter in a pan and lightly toast both sides of the dhokla sandwiches until golden brown.
- Serve warm with extra chutney and enjoy!
