- Split yellow moong dal - 100 grams
- Cucumber - 1 small, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 500 milliliters
Steps
- Rinse the split yellow moong dal under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
- In a pot, add the soaked dal and 500 milliliters of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the dal is tender but not mushy.
- Drain any excess water from the dal and let it cool to room temperature.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced cucumber, tomato, and red onion.
- Add the cooled dal to the vegetable mixture.
- Stir in the chopped coriander leaves, green chili, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to enhance flavors.
