Daal Chilla

Ingredients
- Split yellow moong dal - 1 cup
- Water - 1.5 cups (for soaking and blending)
- Green chili - 1 (finely chopped)
- Ginger - 1 tsp (grated)
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tbsp (for cooking)
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped, for garnish)
Steps
- Rinse the split yellow moong dal under cold water and soak it in 1 cup of water for about 2 hours.
- After soaking, drain the dal and transfer it to a blender. Add 1/2 cup of fresh water, green chili, ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt, then blend until smooth and pourable.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and add about 1/2 tablespoon of oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet, spreading it into a thin circle. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the edges start to lift.
- Drizzle a little oil around the edges and on top, then flip the chilla and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
- Serve hot with green chutney or a side of fresh vegetables.
