- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon

- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Ghee or oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 500ml
Steps
- Rinse the yellow split peas under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak in water for 30 minutes, then drain.

- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
- Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chili. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
