Ingredients

  • Venison steak - 300 grams
  • Fresh cranberries - 100 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Water - 100 milliliters

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and honey (if using) to create a marinade.
  2. Add the venison steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, add the marinated venison and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until a crust forms and it reaches your desired doneness.
  4. Remove the venison from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  5. In the same pan, add cranberries and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring gently, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Slice the rested venison and serve topped with the cranberry sauce.
