Ingredients

  • Fresh grated coconut - 100 grams
  • Roasted chickpea flour (besan) - 50 grams
  • Powdered jaggery - 60 grams
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds - 20 grams
  • Chopped walnuts - 20 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the grated coconut, sautéing for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add the roasted chickpea flour to the pan and mix well, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture is slightly golden.
  3. Stir in the powdered jaggery and water, mixing until the jaggery melts and combines with the coconut and flour mixture.
  4. Add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts, mixing thoroughly until everything is well incorporated.
  5. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly until it's manageable to handle.
  6. Once cool enough, grease your hands with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls (ladoo).
  7. Allow the ladoos to cool completely before serving.
