- Fresh clams - 500 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, grated
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or debris, and set aside.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the slit green chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder to the pot, stirring for another minute.
- Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer, allowing the spices to infuse the milk for about 5 minutes.
- Add the rinsed clams to the pot and cover with a lid, cooking for 8-10 minutes or until the clams have opened up.
- Once done, remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and chopped cilantro.
