Ingredients
- Almond milk - 250 ml
- Rice flour - 100 g
- Sugar - 100 g
- Coconut flakes - 50 g
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Saffron strands - a pinch
- Water - 500 ml
- Rose water - 1 tsp
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, baking powder, and cardamom powder. Gradually add almond milk and knead to form a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape them into small balls. Roll each ball in coconut flakes to coat.
- In a saucepan, bring 500 ml of water to a boil. Gently add the coconut-coated balls to the boiling water and cook until they float (about 10 minutes).
- In another pan, dissolve sugar in 250 ml of water over medium heat to create a sugar syrup. Add saffron strands and rose water once the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Once the balls are cooked, remove them from the water and let them cool slightly before transferring them to the sugar syrup.
- Allow the dumplings to soak in the syrup for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
