  • Chowmein noodles - 150 grams
  • Oil (vegetable or sesame) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Bell pepper (sliced, any color) - 1 medium
  • Carrot (julienned) - 1 medium
  • Cabbage (shredded) - 1 cup
  • Spring onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Green chili (sliced, optional) - 1
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Cook the chowmein noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and shredded cabbage, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the pan, followed by soy sauce, green chili, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the noodles are well coated.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds before serving.
