Ingredients

  • Semolina - 100 grams
  • Water - 400 ml
  • Carrot - 1 medium, diced
  • Green beans - 50 grams, chopped
  • Peas - 50 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chili - 1, slit
  • Coriander leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add cumin seeds, chopped onion, and grated ginger to the pan. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced carrot, chopped green beans, peas, and slit green chili. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add turmeric powder and salt to the vegetable mixture, and stir well.
  5. Pour in 400 ml of water and bring it to a boil.
  6. Once boiling, slowly add 100 grams of semolina, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and the semolina is cooked through.
  8. Turn off the heat, add chopped coriander leaves, and mix well before serving.
