Ingredients
- Chickpeas (cooked) - 200 grams
- Potatoes (boiled and mashed) - 200 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup
- Oil for frying - 2 tablespoons
- Chaat masala - for garnishing
- Lemon wedges - for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the boiled and mashed potatoes, cooked chickpeas, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a flat round patty, about 1 cm thick. Repeat with the remaining mixture to form all the patties.
- Place the bread crumbs in a shallow plate and coat each patty with the crumbs evenly on both sides. This will help achieve a crispy texture when frying.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently place the patties in the pan and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove the patties from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Serve hot, garnished with a sprinkle of chaat masala and alongside lemon wedges for an added zing.
