- Paneer - 200 grams
- Cornflour - 3 tablespoons
- All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - as needed for batter
- Oil - for frying
- Bell peppers (red and green) - 1/2 cup (diced)
- Onion - 1 medium (diced)
- Garlic - 3 cloves (minced)
- Ginger - 1 inch (grated)
- Green chilies - 2 (slit)
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato ketchup - 2 tablespoons
- Vinegar - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions - for garnish
Steps
- Cut the paneer into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, and enough water to form a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip each paneer cube into the batter and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In another pan, heat a tablespoon of oil. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chilies. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add diced onions and bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly softened.
- Mix in the soy sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine.
- Add the fried paneer cubes to the sauce and toss gently to coat them evenly.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
