Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Whole wheat flour - 50 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Yogurt - 50 grams
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the yeast mixture and yogurt to the flour mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms, about 8-10 minutes.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into an oval shape, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Brush the surface of the naan with olive oil and sprinkle minced garlic, red chili flakes, and chopped cilantro evenly over the top.
- Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place one naan on the skillet, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffed up.
- Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls. Serve warm.
