Ingredients

  • Chickpeas (cooked) - 1 cup
  • Coconut (freshly grated) - 1/4 cup
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - 10 leaves
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil (coconut or vegetable) - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  2. Add the curry leaves and chopped green chili to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the cooked chickpeas, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the freshly grated coconut and lemon juice.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve warm.
