Ingredients

  • Chickpea flour - 100 grams
  • Canned chickpeas - 200 grams
  • Onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - as needed
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mash the canned chickpeas until slightly chunky.
  2. Add the chickpea flour, chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, and chopped cilantro to the mashed chickpeas.
  3. Mix in cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt until well combined.
  4. Gradually add water to the mixture until a thick batter forms, ensuring it's not too runny.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, flattening them slightly to form fritters.
  7. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the fritters and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt dip.
