- Chickpea flour (besan) - 100 grams
- Jaggery (grated) - 80 grams
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 100 ml
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (almonds and cashews) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat until melted.
- Add the chickpea flour and roast it, stirring continuously for about 5-7 minutes until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the grated jaggery and water, and heat over low heat until the jaggery dissolves completely.
- Once the jaggery syrup is ready, pour it into the roasted chickpea flour mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Add the cardamom powder and a pinch of salt, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
- Continue to cook the mixture for another 5-7 minutes until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour the mixture into a greased plate or tray and spread it evenly.
- Allow it to cool for about 10 minutes, then cut into squares or desired shapes.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
