  • Jaggery (grated) - 80 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chopped nuts (almonds and cashews) - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat until melted.
  2. Add the chickpea flour and roast it, stirring continuously for about 5-7 minutes until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
  3. In a separate saucepan, combine the grated jaggery and water, and heat over low heat until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  4. Once the jaggery syrup is ready, pour it into the roasted chickpea flour mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Add the cardamom powder and a pinch of salt, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
  6. Continue to cook the mixture for another 5-7 minutes until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  7. Remove from heat and fold in the chopped nuts.
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased plate or tray and spread it evenly.
  9. Allow it to cool for about 10 minutes, then cut into squares or desired shapes.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.
