Ingredients
- Chickpea flour - 100 grams
- Jaggery (grated) - 75 grams
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 30 grams
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (almonds and pistachios) - 30 grams
- Water - 50 ml
Steps
- In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee on low flame until melted.
- Add the chickpea flour to the melted ghee and roast it on low heat, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma (about 10-12 minutes).
- In a separate saucepan, combine the grated jaggery and water. Heat gently until the jaggery dissolves completely, then bring it to a boil for 2-3 minutes to form a syrup.
- Pour the jaggery syrup into the roasted chickpea flour mixture, and add the cardamom powder. Mix well until everything is combined, and the mixture thickens (about 5 minutes).
- Remove the mixture from heat and stir in the chopped nuts.
- Grease a plate or tray with a little ghee and spread the mixture evenly, pressing it down with a spatula to form a flat layer.
- Allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes, then cut into squares or diamond shapes.
