Ingredients
- Boneless chicken thighs - 400 grams
- Yogurt - 150 grams
- Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Red chili powder - 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for better flavor).
- Preheat the grill or oven to 200°C (400°F). If using skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers (if using) and brush with oil.
- Place the skewers on the grill or on a baking tray if using the oven. Cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a slight char.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with naan or rice and your choice of chutney.
