Ingredients
- Ground chicken - 500 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
- Cilantro (fresh coriander) - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Mint leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Oil - 1 tablespoon (for binding)
- Skewers - 4 (soaked in water if wooden)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, cilantro, mint leaves, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, and oil.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. You can use your hands for better mixing, ensuring the spices are evenly distributed.
- Cover the mixture and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat your grill or pan over medium-high heat. If using a grill, lightly oil the grates.
- Take a portion of the marinated chicken mixture and mold it around the skewer, shaping it into a long, cylindrical kebab. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Place the skewers on the grill or in the pan. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the kebabs are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
- Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve hot with mint chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges.
