Ingredients

  • Flattened rice (chura) - 1 cup
  • Peanuts (raw) - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 small
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Mustard oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Grated coconut (optional) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a dry pan, lightly roast the peanuts over medium heat until they are golden brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add mustard oil and heat it slightly. Add the chopped onion and green chili, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the flattened rice (chura) and sprinkle with turmeric powder and salt. Mix well to evenly coat the rice.
  4. Add the sautéed onion and chili mixture to the bowl with chura, followed by the roasted peanuts, chopped coriander leaves, and lemon juice.
  5. If using, add the grated coconut and gently mix all the ingredients until combined.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious chhura.
