- Flattened rice (chura) - 1 cup
- Peanuts (raw) - 2 tablespoons
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Mustard oil - 1 tablespoon
- Grated coconut (optional) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a dry pan, lightly roast the peanuts over medium heat until they are golden brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In the same pan, add mustard oil and heat it slightly. Add the chopped onion and green chili, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the flattened rice (chura) and sprinkle with turmeric powder and salt. Mix well to evenly coat the rice.
- Add the sautéed onion and chili mixture to the bowl with chura, followed by the roasted peanuts, chopped coriander leaves, and lemon juice.
- If using, add the grated coconut and gently mix all the ingredients until combined.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious chhura.
