Ingredients

  • Fresh chenna - 200 grams
  • Milk - 500 ml
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cashews - 10 grams
  • Raisins - 10 grams
  • Ghee - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat the milk on medium flame and bring it to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer until it reduces to about half its volume, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the sugar and cardamom powder to the reduced milk, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. In a separate pan, heat the ghee and lightly fry the cashews and raisins until golden brown.
  5. Crumble the fresh chenna into the milk mixture and stir gently to combine.
  6. Add the fried cashews and raisins to the chenna payesh, and stir well.
  7. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  8. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with a few extra cashews or raisins if desired.
