- Fresh chenna - 200 grams
- Sugar - 150 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Saffron strands - a pinch
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped nuts (pistachios and almonds) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a pan, combine 100 ml of water and 150 grams of sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the cardamom powder and saffron strands to the sugar syrup, allowing it to simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Meanwhile, crumble the fresh chenna into small pieces in a bowl.
- In another pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee and add the crumbled chenna, stirring well for about 5 minutes until it becomes slightly golden and aromatic.
- Pour the sugar syrup over the cooked chenna, mixing thoroughly to ensure all the chenna is coated with the syrup.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, then spread the mixture onto a greased plate.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and press gently.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely, then cut into squares or diamond shapes to serve.
