Ingredients

  • Pasta (penne or fusilli) - 200 grams

  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato (chopped) - 1 medium
  • Green chili (slit) - 1
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cream cheese - 100 grams
  • Grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) - 100 grams
  • Fresh coriander (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Boil water in a pot, add salt, and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomato and green chili, cooking until the tomato softens.
  5. Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Lower the heat and add the cream cheese, stirring until melted and well combined with the spices.
