  • Onion (finely chopped) - 50 grams
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
  • Cilantro (fresh, chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Chana masala spice mix - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Breadcrumbs (or chickpea flour) - 50 grams
  • Oil (for frying) - 3 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas and boiled potato until smooth.
  2. Add finely chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chili, and cilantro to the mixture.
  3. Stir in the chana masala spice mix, cumin powder, and salt until well combined.
  4. Gradually add breadcrumbs (or chickpea flour) to the mixture until it holds together without being overly sticky.
  5. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round patties or tikkis.
