Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 250 grams
  • Canned chickpeas - 400 grams, drained and rinsed
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Chana masala spice mix - 2 teaspoons
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
  • Bell pepper - 1 small, sliced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, and diced tomato. Cook for 2-3 minutes until tomatoes soften.
  4. Add the drained chickpeas and chana masala spice mix. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro and lemon juice.
  6. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  7. Transfer the rolled dough to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Spread the chickpea mixture evenly over the pizza base.
  9. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced bell peppers.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
