- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon

- Sev (crispy noodles) - for garnish
- Pomegranate seeds - 2 tablespoons (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the chana dal under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, bring the water to a boil and add the rinsed chana dal. Cook on medium heat for about 20-25 minutes or until the dal is tender but not mushy.
- Once cooked, drain the chana dal and let it cool for a few minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chana dal with diced cucumber, tomato, onion, green chili, and coriander leaves.
- Add lemon juice, chaat masala, cumin powder, salt, and black salt to the mixture. Toss everything gently to combine.
- Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the chana dal chaat in bowls, garnished with sev and pomegranate seeds if desired.
