Ingredients

  • Chickpeas (cooked and mashed) - 200 grams
  • Red onion (finely chopped) - 50 grams
  • Tomato (finely chopped) - 50 grams
  • Cucumber (finely chopped) - 50 grams
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1
  • Fresh coriander (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves - 4
  • Sliced avocado - 1

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed chickpeas, red onion, tomato, cucumber, green chili, coriander, chaat masala, cumin powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Add the almond flour and egg to the chickpea mixture, and mix until a dough-like consistency forms. If too wet, add a little more almond flour.
  3. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  4. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger assembly. Take a lettuce leaf and place a cooked patty on top, followed by sliced avocado.
  6. Top with additional chopped vegetables if desired, and serve with a squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of chaat masala.
