Ingredients
- Chickpeas (cooked and mashed) - 200 grams
- Red onion (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Tomato (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Cucumber (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1
- Fresh coriander (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Almond flour - 50 grams
- Egg - 1
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves - 4
- Sliced avocado - 1
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed chickpeas, red onion, tomato, cucumber, green chili, coriander, chaat masala, cumin powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Add the almond flour and egg to the chickpea mixture, and mix until a dough-like consistency forms. If too wet, add a little more almond flour.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger assembly. Take a lettuce leaf and place a cooked patty on top, followed by sliced avocado.
- Top with additional chopped vegetables if desired, and serve with a squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of chaat masala.
