Ingredients
- Potatoes - 300 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Oil - for shallow frying
- Burger buns - 2
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tamarind chutney - 2 tablespoons
- Mint chutney - 2 tablespoons
- Yogurt - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and let them cool, then peel and mash them in a bowl.
- Add the chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, chaat masala, garam masala, and salt to the mashed potatoes. Mix well to combine.
- Form the potato mixture into two equal-sized patties, then coat each patty with bread crumbs on all sides.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the patties are frying, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on a separate pan if desired.
- Assemble the burger: Spread a tablespoon of yogurt on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a lettuce leaf, a potato patty, sliced cucumber, and tomato.
- Drizzle tamarind and mint chutney on top, then sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala. Close the burger with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with extra chutneys on the side.
