Ingredients

  • Canned chickpeas - 200 grams
  • Boiled potatoes - 1 medium (about 150 grams)
  • Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Green chutney - 2 tablespoons
  • Tamarind chutney - 2 tablespoons
  • Sev (crispy chickpea noodles) - 30 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 1 small, finely chopped

Steps

  1. Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. Set aside.
  2. Peel and dice the boiled potato into small cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpeas, diced potatoes, chaat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, chopped onion, and chopped tomato. Mix well.
  4. Drizzle lemon juice over the mixture and toss gently to combine all the flavors.
  5. Add the fresh coriander leaves and mix again.
  6. On serving plates, create a base layer of the chickpea and potato mixture.
  7. Drizzle green chutney and tamarind chutney generously over the top.
  8. Sprinkle sev over the chaat for added crunch and texture.
  9. Garnish with extra coriander leaves if desired, and serve immediately.
