Ingredients

  • Plain yogurt - 200 grams
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green chili - 1 small, finely chopped (optional)
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a blender, combine the plain yogurt and water, and blend until smooth.
  2. Add the cumin seeds, salt, black pepper, ginger, green chili (if using), and lemon juice to the yogurt mixture.
  3. Blend again for a few seconds to mix in the spices thoroughly.
  4. Taste and adjust salt or lemon juice as needed.
  5. Pour the chaas into glasses and garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  6. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
