Ingredients

  • Cabbage - 200 grams, finely shredded
  • Grated Coconut - 50 grams
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green Chilies - 2, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Curry Leaves - 10 leaves
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon (coconut or vegetable)
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add cumin seeds, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves; sauté for a minute.
  4. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  5. Stir in turmeric powder and mix well.
  6. Add the shredded cabbage and salt; mix thoroughly.
  7. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes on low heat until the cabbage is tender.
  8. Add grated coconut and mix well; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and serve hot.
