- Cabbage - 250 grams, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, chopped
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the sliced onion and fry until translucent.
- Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and green chili. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomato and cook until it softens.
- Incorporate the turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chopped cabbage and stir to combine. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala over the cooked cabbage and mix well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
