- Green chili - 1, slit
- Curry leaves - 10 leaves

- Salt - to taste
- Coconut - 2 tablespoons, grated
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add urad dal and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the slit green chili and curry leaves, cooking for another minute.
- Add the finely shredded cabbage and turmeric powder, mixing well.
- Season with salt and cover the pan. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated coconut.
- Serve hot as a side dish with rice or roti.
