- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Onion - 1, sliced
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, mashed potato, green chili, ginger, garlic, cilantro, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Add breadcrumbs to the mixture and mix again until the mixture holds together.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into flat patties.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the patties in the pan.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cabbage patty, slices of tomato, and onion.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
