Ingredients

  • ground buffalo meat - 400 grams
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • coconut flour - 2 tablespoons
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • red onion - 1/2 small, sliced
  • avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • homemade BBQ sauce - 4 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground buffalo meat, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, sea salt, and coconut flour. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the buffalo patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 71°C.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves, tomato slices, red onion slices, and avocado slices.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place each buffalo patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with tomato, red onion, avocado, and drizzle with homemade BBQ sauce.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the patty and enjoy your Buffalo Burger!
