Steps
- Boil the potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes, then drain and mash them in a bowl.
- In a pan, heat a tablespoon of oil and sauté the chopped onion, ginger, garlic, and green chili until soft.
- Add the green peas to the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes, then mix into the mashed potatoes.
- Stir in the cilantro, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then form it into two equal patties.
- Dip each patty in the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs evenly.
- In a frying pan, heat enough oil to shallow fry the patties over medium heat until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Toast the burger buns lightly in the same pan or on a grill.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on each bun base, followed by a patty, tomato slice, onion slice, cucumber slice, and a tablespoon of mint chutney.
- Top with the bun lid and serve hot.
