Ingredients
- Chicken Mince - 300 grams
- Basmati Rice - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tablespoon
- Biryani Masala - 1 tablespoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Mint Leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Green Chili - 1, finely chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black Pepper - to taste
- Burger Buns - 2
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pickled Onions - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
- In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add half of the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
- Add the chicken mince to the pan, followed by biryani masala, cilantro, mint leaves, green chili, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 10-12 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a separate pot, bring 400 ml of water to a boil. Add the soaked basmati rice and a pinch of salt. Cook until the rice is 70% done, then drain and set aside.
- Mix the chicken mixture with the partially cooked rice, ensuring even distribution. Cover the pot and let it steam on low heat for 10-15 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and infused with flavors.
- While the rice is cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- To assemble the burgers, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them. Place a generous portion of the biryani rice mixture on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top the biryani with a dollop of the yogurt sauce, add pickled onions, and then cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the Biryani Burgers warm, with additional yogurt sauce on the side if desired.
