Ingredients

  • Chicken Mince - 300 grams
  • Basmati Rice - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Biryani Masala - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Mint Leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Green Chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black Pepper - to taste
  • Burger Buns - 2
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Pickled Onions - for garnish

Steps

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add half of the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  3. Add the chicken mince to the pan, followed by biryani masala, cilantro, mint leaves, green chili, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 10-12 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. In a separate pot, bring 400 ml of water to a boil. Add the soaked basmati rice and a pinch of salt. Cook until the rice is 70% done, then drain and set aside.
  5. Mix the chicken mixture with the partially cooked rice, ensuring even distribution. Cover the pot and let it steam on low heat for 10-15 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and infused with flavors.
  6. While the rice is cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  7. To assemble the burgers, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them. Place a generous portion of the biryani rice mixture on the bottom half of each bun.
  8. Top the biryani with a dollop of the yogurt sauce, add pickled onions, and then cover with the top half of the bun.
  9. Serve the Biryani Burgers warm, with additional yogurt sauce on the side if desired.
