Ingredients
- Sattu (roasted chickpea flour) - 200 grams
- Whole wheat flour (for dusting) - 50 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1
- Coriander leaves (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Regular salt - to taste
- Water - as needed
- Ghee or oil (for cooking) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine sattu, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, cumin powder, black salt, and regular salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add water to the mixture and knead until a dough forms. The dough should be soft and pliable but not sticky.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
- Dust a clean surface with whole wheat flour. Roll out each ball into a flat circle, about 6-8 inches in diameter.
- Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat. Once hot, place one rolled paratha on the skillet.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form, then flip it over and drizzle a little ghee or oil on top.
- Cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes, pressing lightly with a spatula until golden brown.
- Repeat the process for the remaining parathas.
- Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
