Ingredients

  • Lean minced lamb or chicken - 200 grams
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1
  • Cilantro (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Mint leaves (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon for brushing
  • Skewers - 4 (soaked in water if wooden)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, cilantro, mint leaves, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the mixture marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to enhance the flavors.
  3. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat. If using a stovetop grill pan, heat it over medium heat.
  4. Take small portions of the marinated mixture and mold them onto the skewers, forming elongated kebabs.
  5. Brush the kebabs with olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance flavor.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the kebabs are cooked through and have a nice char.
  7. Once done, remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Serve hot with sliced onions, lemon wedges, and a side of yogurt sauce.
