Ingredients

  • Flattened rice (Chura) - 100 grams
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut - 50 grams
  • Jaggery (grated) - 30 grams
  • Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilies (finely chopped) - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a bowl, soak the flattened rice (chura) in 1 cup of water for about 10 minutes until it softens.
  2. Drain the water and gently fluff the chura with a fork.
  3. In a pan, heat ghee on medium heat and add cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  4. Add the finely chopped green chilies and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add the softened chura to the pan and mix well with the spices.
  6. Add grated coconut, jaggery, and salt to taste. Stir everything together until well combined and heated through.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the jaggery to melt and blend with the chura.
  8. Finally, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve warm.
