Ingredients

  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Rinse the flattened rice (chura) in water for about 2 minutes, then drain and set aside to soften.
  2. In a pan, heat the mustard oil over medium heat until it is hot.
  3. Add the sliced onion and green chili to the pan, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Stir in the grated ginger and turmeric powder, cooking for an additional minute.
  5. Add the chopped fenugreek leaves and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they wilt down.
  6. Mix in the softened flattened rice along with salt to taste, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
  7. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve warm.
