Ingredients

  • Flattened rice (chura) - 100 grams
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Rice flour - 30 grams
  • Gram flour (besan) - 20 grams
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as needed
  • Oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, soak the flattened rice in water for 5-10 minutes until it softens, then drain excess water.
  2. Add finely chopped coriander, rice flour, gram flour, green chili, grated ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt to the softened flattened rice.
  3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly, adding a little water if needed to form a thick batter.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Spoon small portions of the batter into the hot oil, flattening them gently with the back of the spoon to form patties.
  6. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the pan and drain excess oil on paper towels before serving.
