Ingredients

  • Flattened rice (chura) - 1 cup
  • Peanuts - 1/4 cup
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a dry pan, roast the peanuts on medium heat until they are golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, heat the mustard oil until it starts to smoke slightly.
  3. Add the finely chopped onion and green chili to the hot oil, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Stir in the turmeric powder and salt, mixing well.
  5. Add the flattened rice (chura) to the pan, stirring to coat it with the oil and spices. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring gently.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in the roasted peanuts, chopped coriander leaves, and lemon juice.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
