Ingredients

  • Flattened rice (chura) - 100 grams
  • Chickpeas (cooked) - 100 grams
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Roasted cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, soak the flattened rice in water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a pan, heat mustard oil over medium heat.
  3. Add finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in grated ginger and chopped green chili, and sauté for another minute.
  5. Add the cooked chickpeas, salt, and roasted cumin powder, and mix well.
  6. Fold in the soaked and drained flattened rice carefully to combine all ingredients.
  7. Cook for another 2-3 minutes while stirring gently to ensure everything is heated through.
  8. Remove from heat, and add lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves before serving.
