Ingredients

  • Crushed rice (Chura) - 1 cup
  • Bihari sattu (roasted chickpea flour) - 1/2 cup
  • Boiled potato (mashed) - 1 medium
  • Chopped onion - 1 small
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as needed for dough
  • Ghee or oil - for cooking

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine crushed rice and sattu flour.
  2. Add the mashed potato, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, garam masala, and salt to the bowl.
  3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and gradually add water to form a soft dough.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  6. On a clean surface, roll out each ball into a round paratha, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Heat a tava or skillet over medium heat and add a little ghee or oil.
  8. Cook each paratha for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown, adding more ghee or oil as needed.
  9. Remove from the skillet and serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
