Ingredients

  • Chicken, boneless - 300 grams
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium (150 grams)
  • Tomato, pureed - 1 medium (100 grams)
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chili, slit - 1
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cilantro, chopped - for garnish
  • Chura (flattened rice) - 100 grams
  • Water - 200 ml

Steps

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat until hot.
  2. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and slit green chili, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and sauté until they are browned on all sides.
  5. Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt, stirring well to coat the chicken.
  6. Pour in the tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  7. Add water, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well, then let it cook uncovered for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. In a separate pan, lightly toast the chura until crisp and golden.
  10. Serve the hot chicken curry over the crispy chura, garnished with chopped cilantro.
