- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Wash and dry the okra, then cut off the ends and slice them into thin pieces.
- In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili; sauté for another minute.
- Add the sliced okra and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they start to soften.
- Mix in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
- Once the okra is cooked through, add the flattened rice (Chura) and garam masala. Stir well to combine everything.
- Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the flattened rice to warm up and absorb flavors.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
