Ingredients

  • Okra - 150 grams
  • Yogurt - 200 grams
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Wash the okra under running water and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Cut the okra into small pieces, about 1 cm in size.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the chopped okra to the pan and sauté for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are cooked and slightly crispy.
  4. Sprinkle in the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes to combine the spices. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. Add the sautéed okra mixture to the yogurt and mix well.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves, and serve chilled or at room temperature.
