Ingredients
- Okra - 200 grams
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
- Besan (gram flour) - 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil for frying - 4 tablespoons
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Onion - 1 small, sliced
- Cilantro chutney - 4 tablespoons
Steps
- Wash and dry the okra thoroughly, then slice them into thin strips.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and cumin powder.
- Add the sliced okra to the flour mixture and toss until all pieces are well coated.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated okra in a single layer, frying until they are crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even frying.
- Remove the fried okra from the pan and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- To assemble the burger, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them, if desired.
- Spread cilantro chutney on the bottom half of each bun, then layer with lettuce, fried okra, tomato slices, and onion slices.
- Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your Bhindi Fry Burger!
