Ingredients

  • Okra - 200 grams
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Besan (gram flour) - 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil for frying - 4 tablespoons
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Cilantro chutney - 4 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Wash and dry the okra thoroughly, then slice them into thin strips.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and cumin powder.
  3. Add the sliced okra to the flour mixture and toss until all pieces are well coated.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated okra in a single layer, frying until they are crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even frying.
  5. Remove the fried okra from the pan and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. To assemble the burger, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them, if desired.
  7. Spread cilantro chutney on the bottom half of each bun, then layer with lettuce, fried okra, tomato slices, and onion slices.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your Bhindi Fry Burger!
